Information in regard to the AW Awards Function

Nominations are now open for the annual Athletic Awards to be held on Wednesday 8 May 2019 at Newtown Park in the function hall from 6pm till 10pm.
The qualifying period for nominations will be from 1 April 2018 – 31 March 2019 and include all categories for Track and field, X-country, road races and mountain races.
Criteria will be as follows: Nominated athletes, domestic and international, must be registered and financial with a registered club within the Wellington Region. All results from any officiated competition will be accepted. Records achieved will score additional points. Final awards will be allocated to the highest, second highest and third highest athlete.
Close off date for nominations will be 5 April 2019 to enable selection committee to peruse nominations, draft a list of finalists and allocate certificates and trophies to overall winners. All finalists will be informed via email and broadcast on the AW website and AW Face Book page.

Seniors 20 + & Master athletes: Male and Female Para Athlete. Male and Female Walker. Male and Female Thrower (shot put/discus/ hammer and javelin) Male and Female Sprinter (100/200/400). Male and Female Jumper (triple/high/long & pole vault) Male and Female Middle-Distance athlete. (800/1500/3000 and steeplechase) Male and Female Long Distance (in or out of stadium) Male and Female Cross Country. Male and Female athlete competed overseas. Male and Female teams (Road/Cross Country/Relays)
Juniors 16 – 19 years: Male and Female walker. Male and Female Thrower (shot put/discus/hammer/javelin) Male and Female Sprinter (100/200/400) Male and Female Jumper (high/long & pole vault) Male and Female Middle-Distance athlete. (800/1500/3000 and steeplechase) Male and Female Long Distance (in or out of stadium) Male and Female Cross Country. Male and Female athlete competed overseas. U15 – 13 -15 years: Boy and Girl sprinter (100/200/400) Boy and Girl Jumper (long/triple/high & pole vault) Boy and Girl Thrower (shot put/discus/hammer/javelin) Boy and Girl Middle-Distance athlete. Floating trophies will be awarded to:

A 3-course meal will be served, and tickets will cost $35.00 (+Credit Card Surcharge $1.46) per person. A cash bar will be available. Buy your tickets timeously to avoid disappointment of not being able to attend the Awards Function.
