Kaukau Skyline Traverse

Olympic Harriers and Athletics Wellington proudly present the second year of the 2025 Kaukau Skyline Traverse, incorporating the 2025 Wellington Mountain Running Championships.
Event Location
The races will take place on the western hills of Johnsonville along the Skyline Track over Mt Kaukau.
Races start and finish at the northern end of the Skyline Track heading south along the ridgeline to Mt Kaukau and beyond. All races are ‘out and back’ each with a turn-around point. The long course includes an additional challenging loop before turning around.
Race distances and ascents are
- Race 1: 11:00am Long course 12.15km (600m)
- Race 2: 11:10am Medium course 8.75km (400m)
- Race 3: 11:20am Short course 5.75km (220m)
- Race 4: 11:30am Sprint course 1.75km (70m)
- Medals and spot prizes: 1:30pm

- Early bird prices are available up to Sunday 12 October
- Online entries are available until the end of Friday 17 October.
- Entries on the day are accepted at Waiora Hub between 8:00am and 9:00am.
Entry costs:
- All Juniors (Under 20 years): Earlybird up to 12 October: $10.00; from 13 October: $15.00
- Seniors/masters (Athletics Wellington club members) 20 years plus: Earlybird up to 12 October: $20.00; from 13 October: $25.00
- Seniors/masters (Non-Athletics Wellington club members) 20 years plus: Earlybird up to 12 October: $30.00; from 13 October: $35.00
