Athletics for Schools and Groups at Newtown Park
Schools wishing to use Newtown Park for Athletics Days have a two step process for access and equipment .
1] Stadium/Track Bookings
Bookings for the Stadium are made with Wellington City Council Parks and Recreation

Athletics Wellington can hire your organisation or school all Track & Field equipment to run your event for Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school level.
Equipment available is
- Starting Block, Hurdles, Batons , Flags , Safety signage
- High Jump , Long and Triple Jump including take off boards and equipment including tape measures and measuring pins
- Shot put, Discus, Javelins – Soft shots and discus , Quoits, Hoops and Vortex, tape measures and measuring pins
Also available for hire from Athletics Wellington at extra costs are
- Stadium Sound system
- Photo Finish and result services
Equipment Hire Charges (until December 2022)
All equipment hire charges will be invoiced after your event.
Primary & Intermediate Schools
- $175/day – for requested equipment including one member of Athletics Wellington
Secondary Schools and Groups
- $450/day – for requested equipment including one member of Athletics Wellington
Optional Additions
- Sound System (extra) $50/day – PA system which includes two mobile microphones
- Photo Finish (extra) $350/day – Electronic timing and photo finish system including 1 member of Athletics Wellington (Note: all College Zone events must book this system)
