Athletics for Schools and Groups at Newtown Park 

Schools wishing to use Newtown Park for Athletics Days have a two step process for access and equipment .

1] Stadium/Track Bookings
Bookings for the Stadium are made with Wellington City Council Parks and Recreation

2] Athletics Equipment Bookings
Athletics Equipment bookings are made with Athletics Wellington

Athletics Wellington can hire your organisation or school all Track & Field equipment to run your event for Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school level.

Equipment available is

  • Starting Block, Hurdles, Batons , Flags , Safety signage
  • High Jump , Long and Triple Jump  including take off boards and equipment including tape measures and measuring pins
  • Shot put, Discus, Javelins – Soft shots and discus , Quoits, Hoops and Vortex, tape measures and measuring pins

Also available for hire from Athletics Wellington at extra costs are

  • Stadium  Sound system
  • Photo Finish and result services

Equipment Hire Charges (until December 2022)

All equipment hire charges will be invoiced after your event.

Primary & Intermediate Schools

  • $175/day – for requested equipment including one member of Athletics Wellington 

Secondary Schools and Groups

  • $450/day – for requested equipment including one member of Athletics Wellington

Optional Additions

  • Sound System (extra) $50/day – PA system which includes two mobile microphones
  • Photo Finish (extra) $350/day – Electronic timing and photo finish system including 1 member of Athletics Wellington (Note: all College Zone events must book this system)
