Athletics for Schools and Groups at Newtown Park
Schools wishing to use Newtown Park for Athletics Days have a two step process for access and equipment .
1] Stadium/Track Bookings
Bookings for the Stadium facility are made with Wellington City Council Parks and Recreation

Athletics Wellington can hire your organisation or school all Track & Field equipment to run your event for Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school level or business events.
Equipment available is
- Starting Block, Hurdles, Batons , Flags , Safety signage
- High Jump , Long and Triple Jump including take off boards and equipment including tape measures and measuring pins
- Shot put, Discus, Javelins – Soft shots and discus , Quoits, Hoops and Vortex, tape measures and measuring pins
Also available for hire from Athletics Wellington at extra costs are
- Stadium Sound system
- Photo Finish and Result Services
Equipment Hire Charges (as @ 1 August 2024)
All equipment hire charges will be invoiced after your event.

Additional Information
Primary & Intermediate & Secondary Schools for requested equipment fees will include one Athletics Wellington representative to facilitate and oversee the distribution and collection of equipment, approve set up and use within stadium for Health & Safety.
Equipment Order Forms, Health & Safety Plans and Stadium Maps are available for hirer to complete
Optional Additions
- Sound System (extra) includes PA system which includes two mobile microphones
- Photo Finish (extra) includes electronic timing and photo finish system including 1 member of Athletics Wellington
Note: all College Zone and Regional events must book this system
