OFFICIALS
There is a lot a fun and satisfaction in being an official at athletics events. It is great seeing athletes in action up close, and satisfying to know that you have helped to ensure that the competition is held in accordance with best practice.
Athletics competitions whether Running, Walking, Jumping or Throwing can only take place when there are enough officials and volunteer helpers to make it happen. Athletics events take place in the stadium [Track & Field] or outside the stadium [Out of Stadia] for events like cross country, road running, mountain running and trail running. There are opportunities to help out at track and field events held in a stadium or local clubs, and also for “out of stadia” events. However, we need the most numbers of officials and volunteer helpers for track and field competition, this includes in the ever increasing technology areas of results management, photo finish camera judges and measuring with electronic devices and camera for the field events.
