History of the Vosseler Shield
INFORMATION UPDATE FOR CLUBS AND PARTICIPANTS
Club Gazebo
There is room in the centre of the school playing field for clubs to erect a Gazebo. Access is via the main school car park. Please be there by 11.45 am. Access by car to the field will cease then. If you arrive after 11.45 you will have to carry the Gazebo from the car park to the field.
Parking
The main school car park is restricted to officials and volunteers only. If you are arriving with a gazebo, one car per club with a gazebo will be admitted to school grounds and on site parking will be on a first in basis.
Parking options include Houghton Valley Road. Car park at Sinclair Park top field which is near the top of Houghton Valley Road and Buckley Road at the very top of Houghton Valley Road.
Race Headquarters & Competition Bibs
If the weather is fine HQ will be on the school field. If the weather is not fine, it will be in the school hall. A club representative will need to collect all the bibs from HQ for their respective members. We will not be distributing bibs to individual athletes.
Toilets
There are no toilets available in the school grounds. There are Portaloo’s in the grass reserve area south of the school field. There are toilets in the WCC facility at Sinclair Park, top playing field (same place as the parking option)
Rubbish/Debris
All rubbish and debris are to be taken with you at the end of the event. No rubbish bins are provided. Please leave the school field and grounds in pristine condition. No smoking, vaping or dogs are permitted on the school grounds or field at any time. The school has been generous allowing us to use their facility and it must be respected to ensure we have an opportunity in the future to use their facilities.
VENUE:
Race headquarters is situated at Houghton Valley School Hall. 110 Houghton Bay Road, Houghton Bay, Wellington. All races start, and finish, on the school playing field. No dogs are permi ed on the school grounds. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course covers sports playing fields and a grass track with steep uphill / downhill gradients. The en re race is off road. Runners use the le hand side of the uphill and downhill grass track to safely avoid other runners. There are 4 races run over four distances ranging from 1.5 km to 7.5 km (3 loops/each loop is 2.5k).
