Japanese Athletes Feature in Te Ahumairangi Ten Thousand Festival

 Te Ahumairangi TEN THOUSAND Festival 

Te Ahumairangi 10000 Festival success for 25 year old Japanese visitor Taishori Kawano from the Miyazaki Rikkyo club in a time of 31.28.19 ahead of Scottish Clubs’ Lennox Crowe and Joel Carman. Beth Garland won the womens title in 34.47.48 ahead of Kumiko Otani . Top under 20 athletes were Max Doherty [Olympic] and Charlotte Conder [Olympic] . Conder ran a new standard for the Wellington Under 20 record of 38.52.70. Doherty ran a personal best 31.33.57 to take the under 20 title and finish 4th in the race

Top masters athletes were Daniel Clendon [WHAC] in 34.29.71 and Sally Gibbs [Wanganui] 38.52.77 and Katie Jenkins[Olympic]  caiming the Wellington Masters Woman top  result with 39.58.0. Michelle Allison [Scottish] ran 49:19.57 and broke the NZ Women’s 70+ record .
