Plenty of Success for Wellington Secondary Schools Athletes In Hamilton
A team of over 70 athletes travelled to Hamilton supported by schools and family along with Athletics Wellington team management for the valued North Island Schools Championships.
The team achieved sixteen Top podium spots with thirteen 2nd placings and fourteen thirds placings. Some fantastic results in ideal conditions saw a very smart NISS record to Nova Tupai running 36.96 for Junior Boys 300 metres.
Zaiden Filemu was a standout too, winning the Junior boys 100m and 200m , and taking 2nd in the High and Long jumps plus an anchor member of the JB 4 x 100m relay team that placed second.
Many athletes achieved excellent personal best over the weekend in their first big representative opportunity
