College Athletes celebrated at Awards night

College Sport Wellington Athletes Successes

In the 35th Annual College Sport Awards night  at Te Rauparaha Events Centre  numerous athletes from our school athletics community  were recognised.

In the athletics sections Track & Field  athletes of the Year were Rebecca Bailey (St Oran’s College and Joe Martin (Wellington College). Cross Country / Road Race athletes of the Year were Jess McKenzie (Hutt Valley High School) and Joe Martin (Wellington College). Rebecca and Joe were both also nam din the group of finalist for the overall CSW sportspersons awards. 

Toby Ireland (Hutt Valley High School) was named as one of the  athletes with a Physical Disability, and in the athletes with an Intellectual Disability Ruby Lasini (Wainuiomata High School)and Albert O’Brien (Onslow College) were recognised.

Other finalist was, for each of the code sections were in Track & Field, Sacha Kilmister (Kāpiti College), Maddison Maclean (St Mary’s College), Luke Jarvis (Paraparaumu College), Jaguun Gunregjav-Willers (St Patrick’s College, Town), and XC & R, Olivia Clay-McDowell (Kāpiti College), Maddison Maclean (St Mary’s College) and Connor Kemp (St Patrick’s College, Town) and Alex MacBeth (Wellington College). Connor was also named as finalist for multisport achievements in the Emerging Codes section.

Other finalists were in the All Rounder of the Year category were Jacob Williams (Hutt Valley High School) and  Rebecca Bailey (St Oran’s College), in addition  Rebecca  was also a finalist for Service to School Sport & Student Official of the Year
