Hanning takes Nuku Ora Award for Disabled athletes

Congratulations to Kiwi Athletics Corran Hanning
Corran Hanning was awarded the Nuku Ora Sport and Recreation Award for Disabled athletes last evening via the unique Livestream Awards held under COVID 19 Level 2 restrictions. The Awards dinner had to be restructured at late notice with the 6.00pm restrictions starting and only co hosts, MC’s Jason Pine and Paul Tesoriero  CEO of Nuku Ora Phil Gibbons and key Note speaker John Allen,  in attendance along with opening dance group.

Corran Hanning, the 17 year old Kiwi Athletic Club member, has shown great promise across shotput, discus, and javelin. He was selected in the New Zealand secondary school team after winning two Golds, two Silvers, two Bronzes and breaking three New Zealand records at the NZ Secondary Schools 2020 Athletics Nationals in Tauranga in December. Performances like these led to Corran being deservedly named College Sport Wellington Disabled Athlete of the Year and Athletics Wellington Para Athlete of the Year in 2020.
