Due to unprecedented rainfall over the past few weeks, parking at the Road Champs may be severely limited due to the grass areas being too wet. We have a revised plan for the parking which we are asking key club people to send out to members.

While it should be completely okay for the running of the races on the road, it is just a problem for the parking. People are advised to car-pool even more than usual. Also, utilise parking at the end of Hine Road and at Richard Prouse Park with a longer walk to the event area. If parking becomes full at the event area, it is a 5 minute drive to the Hine Road parking areas plus a 5 minute walk to the event area, so it is better if people simply go directly to the Hine Road area for parking instead.
We know this means a longer walk to the event area, but we have no other option if it is hazardous to park on the grass areas. This will mean that people will need to add in some extra time to get to the event so as to not be rushing to make the start of races. Even if it stops raining, it may be too wet to park on the grass. We hope people are understanding of this and can cope with an extra bit of walking.
There will be room for officials and key people with club tents to park up at the usual area.
This event will be the final round of the Athletics Wellington Cross and Road Winter Series Competitions

Entry Eligibility and Fees
The event is open to any athlete registered in the Athletes NZ Club Net database as “Competitive” and “Active and Financial” as at 11.59pm on Thursday 18 August 2022.
Registered athletes from other centres are welcome at this event.
They will need to email Daryl, daryl@fedude.co.nz by Thursday 18 August, 5:00pm
Athletics Wellington clubs will be invoiced after the event for the competitors who finish:
$12.00 for all competitors aged 20+, $7.50 for all competitors under 20.
The entry fee for fully registered athletes from other centres will be $15 payable on the day when picking up their pre-registered temporary race bib from the Truck.
