INFORMATION
Health and Safety Requirements
- Athletes are to adhere to the safety briefing and follow the instructions of the Chief official at each event
- Athletes must only warm up on the field when directed to and under the supervision of an official
- Only competitors and officials are permitted to be in the competition area
- Training is prohibited anywhere inside the arena
Entry Fees and Registration
- All athletes must pay the subscribed entry fee and be competitive financial members of a Club affiliated to Athletics NZ.
- All Grades except Masters are age as at 31.12.23, ANZ/NZSS specifications will be used for U16 grades
- Athletes must ensure they wear their assigned their Newtown Park Competition ID bib # or collect if not previously uplifted for the competition or haven’t taken part in one of our AW meets so far this season, we will issue you a new bib at the registration desk.
- You must wear your competition bib during the meet.
Championship Awards
- Only members of clubs in the Athletics Wellington region are eligible for Championship awards.
- Post events collect from the TIC your AW Championships medal – there will be no medal presentations
Event Check In
- Please report to the registration desk in the Function Room at least one hour before your first event.
- Individual event check in times at the competition sites are;
- Field 30 mins before for start and warm up
- Track 10 mins before for start
- Athletes who wish to scratch from an event should do so by emailing Marshall Clark; marshallclark@gmail.com or scratch on the day either in person at registration, or by sending a text to 021 442305.
- Track events will be run in Age Grades where possible. Age Grades may be combined into one race, by the Competition Secretary, when deemed necessary to create appropriately sized fields.
Uniform and Shoes
- ANZ Regulations, Rule S143.2, state that club uniform must be worn for these Championships. Failure to do so may result in disqualification
- Athletes need to be familiar with World Athletics Shoe requirements
Masters Athletes
Masters Athletes will use specifications for their 5 year age band, however titles will be awarded in the following age groups:
- Masters 35-49
- Masters 50–59
- Masters 60-69
- Masters 70+
