Nominations for Athletics Wellington Annual Awards
As we close out the year of 2023, Athletics Wellington is calling upon all clubs and members to to nominate worthy recipients for the Athletics Wellington Annual Awards. The Awards period is the calendar year of 2023. The Awards recognise excellence in achievement and contribution to our sport in the last 12 months. Athlete awards categories are for stadia [track & field] and non stadia [cross country, road, trail, ultra and mountain running]. Age categories are Masters [35+], Seniors, Juniors [Under 20] and Youth [Under 18 & Under 16] during the year 2023
Event disciples for recognition includes
- Sprints 60 m – 400m including hurdles
- Middle distance – 600m through to 10000m on track including steeples
- Out of Stadia – Cross Country, Road, Trail, Mt Run and Ultra
- Walks
- Jumps
- Throws
Community awards are made in recognition their contribution during the Year for
- Volunteers
- Coaches
- Officials
Last years Overall Award winners were the Scottish clubmates of Hannah Miller and Hamish Carson , while in 2021 Anna Thomson and Quentin Rew took the honours.
Nominations for all categories close on Monday 5 February
An Awards Ceremony date will be announced in the New Year, to be staged in late March early April after the National Track & Field Championships.
