Records Broken in Focus Meetings

In the two major meetings outside the New Zealand Championships to be held in Wellington this summer a number of records were broken.

Last Friday evening under lights and in mixed conditions at the 20th Anniversary Team Ledger Harcourts Capital Classic was held with four new meet records and a number of NZL records that included a M19 3000m Walk record for Jonah Cropp. Sasha Baasamovna Al-Dazhani set NZ para records for T38 over 100m & 200m. 

Meet records were set by Sam Tanner (3000m), Joshua Hawkins (110mH), Tommy Te Puni (400m) and  Laura Langley (3000m TW) who all took a split share of the Team Ledger Harcourts $4000.00 bonus pool

The following day records and personal bests tumbed also at the Sola Power Academy Throwers meeting with the most notable being that of Elizabeth Hewitt setting new Senior Women’s hammer record by almost 3 metres
