Athletics Wellington Winter Series Finals Standings
In both the male and female grades there were four athletes who went unbeaten in the Athletics Wellington Winter Series races across four major interclub races for individuals during the season. The events were the Vosseler Shield, Dorne Cup Cross Country, and both the Wellington Cross Country and Road Championships.
There were two unbeaten siblings in their respective youth grades in the series, being the well performed youngsters from the Hutt Valley Harriers Club, Emily (Under 10) and Jacob Williams (Under 12). In the other categories athletes Sarah Drought (WHAC – Senior), Poppy Healy (WHAC – Under 16) and Heather Walker (Scottish – Masters 50+) who will all be expected to show strong performances in this weekend National Road Championships at Trentham’s NZCIS course on Sunday dominated their respective women’s grades. Similarly in the Men’s grades unbeaten across the series were last weeks line honours winner in the 10km road event Hiro Tanimoto (Scottish – Masters 35+), Tony Price (Masterton -Master 65+) and young Callum Wos (Trentham – Under 16).
