Track & Field Season Opening Day at Newtown Park
Another busy track & field season gets underway for Athletics Wellington tomorrow Saturday at Newtown Park. The day will start in the morning with WHAC Junior club day followed by AWD Athletics, before the first Senior meet at 2.00pm.
During the next five months or so the Stadium will have over 70 days of use once all primary and secondary schools dates are confirmed for February and March. While no major New Zealand National Championships come to the city this year the annual Team Ledger Harcourts Capital Classic is this year on Wednesday evening 29 January and will feature World Athletics Bronze Tour events. Sola Power Academy Throwers meet will be featuring on Saturday 18 January in Lower Hutt.
Next week sees the beginning of club nights for many of our Junior clubs across the greater Wellington and Wairarapa region.
