Training for our officials – Level A Throws course

A group of our Wellington officials attended a Level A throws training course at Hastings over 19-20 September.  The course was led by Trevor Spittle, New Zealand’s top official, and was held in conjunction with a track and field spring series meet.  We are very grateful to these officials for giving their time to lift their training to Level A.  We cannot hold Track and Field competitions without your skills and commitment.

This is just a note to express how incredible and fulfilling this weekend was for me!!!

The course, of course, was incredible. Having Trevor for such a reduced number of people was so good, we were able to ask him all the questions I had, and his knowledge empowers you and enriches you so much!

The exam on Sunday morning was………… haaaaard!!! ha ha ha and long!!! but I was ready and happy to be sitting there with an amazing group of people. I hope I passed, I feel very confident I did, and I feel extremely happy for having attempted that!

Sunday was the cherry on the icecream!!  I got to chief the Hammer, including a record which I ended up rechecking with the referee, then spiked on the Discus, then I got to be the Circle Judge for shot, yes officiate Dame Valery Adams and Tom Walsh in the same competition, and I was there to tell them yeah or nahhhh ha ha ha UNREAL!!!!!   And I finished it off spiking for Javelin.

The whole weekend was unreal and incredible!! So thank you guys for organizing this and I feel proud that I learned so much and to be able to apply all that to our meetings every Saturday
