Upper Hutt AC retain the Melrose Shield
Top weather and fun Melrose Shield Relays meet enjoyed by around 100 athletes on Saturday. A well coordinated Upper Hutt AC team claimed victory ahead of WHAC and Olympic Harriers club.
Scott Waldrom and his Upper Hutt team leaders ensured they fielded many teams across the grades including the field events to secure victory. UHAC Team clinched a 2nd consecutive victory to retain the shield from a spirited challenge by WHAC and a Junior dominated Olympic team. The teams scores for top were calculated as UHAC 123, WHAC 100, Olympic 73
