Wellington Athletes Performing Abroad with Distinction

Over the last week abroad a number of Wellington athletes have performed with distinction 

Mia Ramsden [WHAC] set new PB mile mark to lead NZ rankings with 4.24.83 at the Millrose Games and earned selection for the World Indoors. This is the 2nd best on NZL all time list just under 1 sec outside Kim Smith mark set in 2008. This will be Ramsden first major global Championship in the silver fern. 

Will Anthony [Olympic] ran his first sub four mile in 3.58.39 to make him the third ranked Wellington miler behind Nick Willis and Hamish Carson, while Tessa Hunt [WHAC] ran a ranking lead 2.48.49 1000 metres both at the Valentine Invitational Indoors meet in Boston. 

In Adelaide James Preston [Scottish] ran a season best 1.45.50 to lead the NZ ranking and edge closer the Olympic qualifier auto Mark of 1.44.70. This was Preston’s second best time just 2/10ths away from his best. Also in Adelaide  Anna Thomson [Mana AC] jumped 12.48m in triple.
