Kings Honours for Barbara and Mike Beable
Barbara and Mike Beable awarded honours as Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit [MNZM ] for services to athletics.
The now Wanaka based long serving Wellington Athletics community couple of Barbara and Mike Beable were recognised in Kings Honours Awards over the weekend. As excellent competitive athletes and then outstanding coaches, Barbara and Mike were both long standing and integral members of the Athletics Wellington community for many years. In Wellington they had long club associations with both Victoria University and Wellington Harrier Athletic Club.
In 2016 Barbara and Mike moved to Wanaka for a semi-retirement lifestyle. They have continued their athletic involvement there still impacting with coaching and supporting youth.
